New 2024/2026 APES Project
A recently published report by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs highlights the main topics covered by foreign media in Switzerland. Surprisingly, it reveals a significant gap in coverage of the vibrant Swiss innovation ecosystem contributing to the progress of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
To fill this gap, APES, in collaboration with the Centre Universitaire d’Informatique (CUI) of the University of Geneva and the FacLab, will organize a series of tailor-made events to provide the foreign media with first-hand access to carefully selected innovations, foreign scientists working in Switzerland, and local academic expertise.
The proposed format will mainly take the form of a World Café, where innovators animate tables, and the foreign press can join them in 15-minute rounds, asking questions. Presenters will include representatives from businesses, NGOs, International Geneva, and academia.
Each event will be dedicated to a specific topic or feature a major recent technological advancement. A committee comprised of members of the APES board and the University of Geneva is tasked with selecting the most promising Swiss-based innovations that will present their solutions at our events.
Presenters will be invited to showcase their solutions in a clear, accessible manner to ensure more effective media distribution.
Our first event is scheduled for May 2nd in partnership with the University of Geneva. We are currently seeking funding and sponsorships.
APES will not endorse or support any company or entity participating in the events but will only offer them a neutral platform where they can present their solutions to the press.
We hope to provide Apes members access to the forefront of Swiss innovation, resulting in more in-depth coverage by foreign media.
We will also involve interested Swiss journalists and medias.
